At DonorAtlas, we believe AI should make fundraising work easier; not less human.
Our core belief is that AI should supplement, not replace, the work of fundraising and prospect research professionals. This means automating the boring stuff (research drudgery, data cleanup, etc) so that you can focus on strategy, relationships, and engaging donors.
Here’s how we put that belief into action to ensure that AI meets fundraising in a responsible way:
- We cite our sources. For every data point in the DonorAtlas platform, we link to the source so you can understand where our model gets its information.
- We prioritize security and privacy. DonorAtlas is SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliant. Private donor data never leaves our secure environment; we don’t push private information through public models or to any third party.
- We keep humans in the loop. Before we deploy any model, we ensure it undergoes rigorous internal reviews by our team. Additionally, users have the ability to report any and all issues in the DonorAtlas platform, which we resolve quickly.
- We don’t put AI where it doesn’t belong. The actual work of building relationships and communicating with donors is still always up to the professionals–DonorAtlas just helps with the research.
- We build AI for fundraisers specifically. Our models are fine tuned with fundraising use cases in mind, and we constantly gather feedback from our users and other fundraisers on the ground.
- We prioritize usefulness over flash. We focus on making AI helpful, not just impressive. That means clear outputs, understandable logic, and no mystery behind the curtain.
