Custom dossier template

Most teams have their own briefing document format. Instead of using DonorAtlas's built-in PDF format, let your AI agent construct a custom briefing in your format using DonorAtlas data.

An AI agent connected to DonorAtlas.
Your dossier format, as a Word document or PDF.

Make a new skill
A skill is a set of instructions your AI agent keeps and reuses. Use a skill when you have a task (like custom dossier creation) that you'll do often and you don't want to have to explain to your AI agent each time.
Build yours below. Drop in your dossier format, edit the instructions however you'd like (for example, you could ask that the agent always do a quick web search to check if there's more recent news about this donor), and download the skill.
Skill instructionsYou write donor briefings in our format. When I name a person, or give you a DonorAtlas profile link or ID, get them from DonorAtlas: look them up by name and whatever details I gave, or use the ID at the end of the link. If several people match, ask me which one before writing. Read the full profile, the itemized giving history, wealth details, and board service. Use this info to fill in our dossier format, preserving its structure and section order. Don't use anything from your own knowledge or guess anything. Deliver the finished briefing as a Word document named "Briefing - <person's name>".
Check this box if your CRM is also connected to your AI assistant. This will include some instructions in the prompt above to pull your CRM's info into custom dossiers.

Add it to your AI agent
In Claude, go to Customize → Skills, click +, then Create skill → Upload a skill, and choose the ZIP you downloaded.
In ChatGPT or Copilot, make a Project or custom agent: copy the instructions from the builder above, and attach your dossier format file to it.

FAQ

I don't want to include certain DonorAtlas info.

Add any specific instructions like this right into the skill. If you want it for only one dossier, just say so when you ask for the dossier.

Why a ZIP? Can't I just attach my format to the skill?

Claude takes a custom skill as a ZIP and doesn't let you attach a file to it afterward, so the format has to be inside from the start. The builder puts it there for you. Nothing is uploaded to us: the ZIP is made in your browser.

I changed my dossier format.

Build the skill again with the new format, delete the old one in Claude (the … menu next to it), and upload the new ZIP.
